We were seated right away at Jennifer's. Our waitress was wonderful. The chicken/carrot soup is decent. The salads were good. The shish kafta was awesome. The peanut butter/chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING! All in all, pretty good place to dine. Price is right and staff is helpful.

First off, I got to say that there was really nothing wrong with the restaurant. The service was friendly and fast. Ice tea and diet coke refills kept coming. The food was....good. I hesitate about the food because it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, it was just, well, okay. I was warned ahead of time that it lacked in ambiance, but really? What's up with the ball and jacks on the wall? I could have done without the wood flowers on the table, the fake trees in the corner and don't even get me started about the, uh, sculpture on the wall between the bathrooms. Jennifer's was just devoid of any type of personality. I ordered the Maurice salad that everyone raved about. It was good, but not as good as Macy's. Amy had the ham and cheese wrap. She thought it was good, but not worth $8.75. The home made potato chips were really good, but who goes to a restaurant for chips? We both agreed that the food was overpriced. Maybe with better ambiance, we wouldn't have minded the price. We left full but not satisfied. I won't be going back.

Jennifer's is my all time favorite restaurant. I've been going my entire life and have never had a bad experience. The pita bread is delicious, grape leaves are awesome, and you can never go wrong with a #12. Still miss the rice soup with lamb meatballs though!

Great place ...food is fantastic Note I was there and saw two women come in ask for to see a menus Then left They both stared at the man at the counter He was unshaven and a little unkept He is a good guy but has the wrong appearance to greet you Looks more like a construction worker If you can get past him the place is great

Really disappointing. We used to live close to this place, and would come here at least once a month. It was always one of our favorites. Took some friends here tonight, and the Maury salad was really subpar for freshness and quantity of Turkey ham and cheese. Service was okay, food was slightly under average.

I have been going to Jennifer's Cafe for as long as I can remember. My mom would always take me to meet an aunt or my grandma for a "girls lunch." The memories I have there are almost as good as the food - which is absolutely fantastic! The menu is the perfect assortments of options for lunch; soups, salads, wraps and a variety of fresh entrees. I have tried lots of dishes but I do have my staples....maurice salad, #14 chicken sandwich and the cookies - they are the size of your face and delicious. I would say the prices here are moderate. Sandwiches range from $9-10, salads are $10-$15 and entrees are $11-$26. Meals come with pita bread and sandwiches come with their delicious homemade chips. Jennifer's Cafe is located in a shopping plaza on the corner of Richardson Rd. at 4052 Haggerty Rd., Commerce Twp, MI 48390. There is a huge parking lot so you can always find a spot. The sign is massive and it's on both sides of the building, so there is no way you can miss it. The vibe here is classic cafe - no frills just a comfortable restaurant with quick service and meals that will keep you coming back - it have for the past 20 years.

Food is decent but it really is nothing special. Place is always empty and could use a huge renovation. Just looks like no one cares about the appearance.

The food was okay. This place needs a serious makeover though! I thought I was walking into a nursing home or something. After I heard great reviews we stopped in for lunch one day expecting a $15-20 lunch at the highest. Nope, we each got a sandwich and a drink and the total was almost $30! I thought it was insane and we both would have rather gone to coney island. I was also expecting something more as the prices were so high but it was just like a deli with minimal to choose from.

This restaurant has a diner feel to it but has a more extensive menu than you would expect. They have a nice selection of breakfast items and sandwiches but also more like salmon, veal etc. The price point from the low priced items to their main entrances are a little bit steep. We both ended up ordering their Reuben sandwich. They prepared the food quickly and it tasted good. The corned beef was decent, not as flavorful like I would have liked but it was better than I expected.

Great food but the price is a little high. I have gone back and will continue to. Chicken carrot soup is good, Maurice salad salad is fantastic to the point where I always get this now. Other people have liked what they have ordered as well. One visit our salad had chicken which was full of gristle but that happens and will not prevent me from going back.

I haven't been to Jennifers in 5 years. I was disappointed. I had the Jennifer Nicoise salad. The salad was 90% lettuce. The salad was supposed to have tuna and I would guess maybe an ounce of tuna and some tomatoe and maybe a quarter of avocado. I don't think this salad was worth $9.00 by any means.

After hearing a recommendation of this place's salads, I decided to go there with a friend for an overdue lunch. There were a variety of options to choose from, but only 3 salads, which didn't make my picky palette water. They had a quiche of a day, which I unfortunately didn't try, but I did try their soup of the day: tomato chicken spinach. Now, while it wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever had, it was good enough and homemade enough to want to go back for more. My lunch partner ordered their carrot chicken soup, which was surprisingly good. I ordered a chicken pita for lunch, and I was surprised at how big the portion was! It was delicious, as were their fresh potato chips. I can't wait to go back again to try other things on the menu and eat more chips! The service was also pretty good. The only thing lacking was the ambiance, the area looked nothing special. However, looks are deceiving.

What can I say? Jennifer's Cafe is always so good! Not sure how long this local treasure has been around but its been a family favorite for at least 15 years. I have to admit that I don't really vary my ordering much - but thats because the items I do order have become downright comfort food! The only thing I want when I am sick is the carrot chicken soup! I always order a #14 - charbroiled chicken, havarti, lettuce, tomato and a spicy honey mustard, and a maurice salad! The small maurice will feed at least 2 people, same with the sandwich. Check out Jennifer's Cafe... you will NOT be disappointed.

Great Maurice salad and carrot chicken soup. Sandwiches are great. Great way to support a local business.

Food was sub-par and the service wasn't anything to write home about. Portions were ample, price was too much for the food you receive. Jenny's Cafe is at the bottom of my dining choices for the Commerce area.

This place was ok if you like giant portions and bland food. I didn't eat anything to really write home about. I walked in and the place was about half full at lunch time on a Thursday, I waited for about five minutes before I was finally acknowledged at all, even though about three waitresses walked past me. A simple 'hello' or an 'I'll be with you in a second' would have been fine, even if they were too busy to seat me just then. Although, once I was seated, I was helped almost immediately. After reading the reviews I decided to get the carrot chicken soup and a maurice salad, the small size. The small size, is not small at all. A word of warning, the table next to me got the maurice in a large size and I couldn't tell the difference other than it was a slightly different plate. As for taste, the carrot chicken soup is bland bland bland! I had to put a bunch of salt on it to even get a taste. And there's only a hint of tiny shards of chicken, no chunks. I guess I'm just used to a little hardier soups. The maurice salad is good, but not spectacular, again I was struck by the lack of taste, the bright spots were when I got the occasional sweet pickle in my bites. It could have done with more of that in my opinion. Or at least a tastier dressing. Again, it wasn't anything inedible or even unpleasant, but it wasn't anything I'd go back for either. Last but not least, they committed the cardinal sin in my book when I go out to eat. When they refilled my drink, they didn't ask what I was drinking and then brought me back a diet coke instead of my original coke. I realize I'm a young female (and they typically get diet) but please don't assume that's what I want too, I'd much rather you ask me what I want if you're unsure. That's what really knocked them down to two stars.

My wife, daughter, and I were looking for something fast on a Saturday afternoon. We walked in and were seated. The menu is very wordy and cheffy. The prices are pretty high. The food is ok. But by ok the cheapest thing on the menu is around $8. The options are very limited. This is my honest opinion.... It is Trying to be something that it is clearly not. The menu acts fine dining while the food and service is more like Coney Island/Denny's. Not impressed at all.

It was odd seeing a small family-owned cafe' having Middle-eastern food... so I had to try it. It was fairly good.... not great, although the hummus was fantastic. I usually judge a small place like that by the burgers, but this time... I thought 'why not try to the Middle Eastern platter". It was a Friday night around 6pm, and we were only 2 of 4 people total in the place. My wife had the open-faced tuna sandwich, and she said it was "above average". We will go again to try something different, but nothing to write home about. The waitress even tried selling us "OMG, the Food here is FANTASTIC" Really? The waitress was telling us this? "Well, of course... you work here!" The entree's were over-priced, too. We decided NOT to try a dinner platter because most of them were $18-22. A little over our budget.

I dont remember what we all ordered but i remember eating some of everyones and thinking to myself EVERYTHING IS GREAT! so give it a try! tell your friends and give them some buisness they deserve it!

Jennifers is truly a neighborhood gem, everything is done well here, the Soups, the salad's, the entrees, the Sandwiches. The Service is always good, always!!!! Really you must tip your cap & say this is a well managed business. It starts with the fact that you feel welcomed when you enter the door, sadly it seems even in today's economy that far too few service providers Whatever that Service maybe seem to fail with this regard, Jennifers does not.. Usually when i dine out i don't want to eat the type of food Jennifers provides, i really feel i should support this Cafe more than i do because it is a gem. For those of you who like Soups, Salads, Sandwiches check it out Jennifers is terrific.

Better than your average cafe Don't let the 'ordinary cafe' demeanor fool you. Jennifer's has a good selection of food- including above average vegetarian dishes. Additionally, the freshly fried potato chips are purposefully consumed rather than discarded to the side of the plate like most places. The clientele appears to be composed of mostly elderly folks with a few families sprinkled in. Prices are reasonable, meals are good, service is competent and friendly and giant cookies are a must have.
